Hiya Folks, I purchased a 2021 Sonic 220VRB and was wondering about freezing temperatures and just how good is the Sonic underbelly insulated? Going to NC Mountains in Mid Feb with lows in the 2.0’s.

I know there is a plastic tarp stapled underneath it, but don't believe it has insulation. My unit has no tank heaters, so that was the key. Also, if you have a unit heater and not floor vents, that too is another indication that your belly will be cold.

Same. Mine has the weather shield package, and here is what it states on the website: Weather-Shield Package (Mandatory) Forced-air heated & enclosed underbelly, 360° residential fiberglass insulation, 360° radiant foil insulation, radiant foil bubble insulation-wrapped tanks. (360° = roof, floor, front/rear walls). www.venture-rv.com/products/sonic-travel-trailers/features.html

Also, if you have a unit heater and not floor vents, that too is another indication that your belly will be cold. My Sonic 231VRL has a duct running from the furnace into the underbelly. Actual camper heating is only through the front grate of the furnace unit. By all appearances inside, the furnace is only the non-ducted standard camper heater, but there is also a duct for heating the underbelly coming out the side of it.
