KZ response (customer support): Solar is a trickle charge; only run off shore power (this can't be true)
So frustrating as we absolutely LOVE this layout and overall TT. Really hard to find a king bed, bench seat in bedroom, storage, counter space, etc in TT around 30 feet.
Unless there is some other "Bright" idea out there.

I would get a 3500/4000 W Generator. That would allow for "shore power" and eliminate the loss you would be taking on the trailer. We have one we used for our Hideout that we traded in on the SportTrek. I might even pressure the dealership who sold the unit to sell you one "At Cost" to help offset their ignorance of the products they sell.
If you really love the layout that is the route I would go; Also even with Solar there will be times that you may need the additional power that the genny will give. We have also been going through some frustrations with our new trailer, mostly minor QC issues but I used to own my own remodeling company and am extremely picky.
On the "OFF THE GRID" solar they need to quit using that term, I feel they are setting themselves up for a class action lawsuit as the words OFF THE GRID imply that no other power would need to be used to operate any of the 12V systems. VENTURE are you Listening??

Often the camp sites we are at don't permit generators but we'll consider that option.
Edit: Okay I'm going back into denial of what KZ customer support said - it has to be wrong. I've talked to two dealers... the one we bought it from in Cincinnati OH and the local dealer in Richmond VA that is doing the warranty work. Both dealers are saying they have never heard of such a thing and I should be able to run off of 12-volt and those slides out. They're running it up the Venture Sales channel.

Been following and this just seems absolutely ridiculous. I just bought a brand new 251vrk as well and when I first read this thread, immediately double checked to see if my fridge would run dual (110v or 12v+propane) as I'd never heard of this before. Thankfully it does.
Just a thought. Reach out on the FB venture pages to find someone else that's bought your exact same camper and inquire if they are having a similar issue where the slide wont open on 12v only. You can't be the only person out there thats bought it. Even if you find someone that normally runs on shore power alone explain the situation and ask them to "experiment " if you will. If the problem doesn't happen on the exact same yr/model camper that would be a pretty compelling argument to throw back at KZ/Venture.

Thanks... ya going to work it with Venture first. I've asked to escalate. I have no idea how one escalates with these companies but I have a will and will find a way. I've got two dealers involved now.
MODERATOR: How do I escalate a warranty item on our 2021 STT272VRK? I feel the response I've received is absurd. I've asked the Customer Service person the same.

Cool.... Venture very responsive. General Manager called me this morning and will work through the issues with communication of parties, camper, and truck. We'll find out the issue and get it resolved.

@ B&N, Keep at it. I believe that there is something wired incorrectly or a faulty part. Reason for this is in these RV's all systems are 12v other than the fireplace heaters, the A/C, and the televisions. I would also reach out to BAL, the frame, stabalizers, and slideout equipment MFG.
The slideout on your STT272VRK is no different than the slideout on my ST312VIK. They both use the same NGX Slide.
When checking some of the systems on my trailer I found a couple of electrical connections that the wires were not connected correctly. By this I mean when they stripped the wires and connected them to the solar panel control box they did not ensure that all of the wires strands were inserted; the end result of this is it creates a lower amp rating for the wire, essentially an 8ga wire becomes a 12ga connection due to fewer wires actually being allowed to carry the current. If a situation like this is occurring anywhere in the line from the power source, through the switch and circuit breaker, or at the motor itself then the amp load is being restricted and will trip the breaker. Think of this like what happens when you try and run an air compressor off of a long extension cord, you do not get the amp draw needed to turn the compressor motor and will trip the circuit breaker. As this is only happening on the battery, I suspect it may be a connection somewhere in the line between the battery and the converter.
The Tech's at the servicing dealership should understand this but based on my experience many do not.
Hope this helps, I am following all issues individuals are discovering so I can preemptively correct any issues I may have on my new Venture TT.

B&N I agree with fotohouse, something is wrong for sure. That was a bad call from the dealer and Venture I think. Not being able to use slides when not on shore power to me isn't how that works, slides have been running off just batteries for years. Other than dedicated 110v appliances, everything else electric is 12 volt in an RV, including the slides. Keep at them.

So frustrated. Ya that's right a 12 volt frig no propane for frig for our 2021 STT272VRK. It was a surprise when we picked up the camper. I can't even get the slides out without shore power. I sure hope they can figure Venture and the dealer can figure this out. We love the unit otherwise. FYI we had a leak test done too and the unit was totally sealed.

Hi guys we just received our 2021 sporttrek 302vrb. We have the 120v/ propane fridge, but still have the same battery issues as some of you. Battery life says FF, when plugged in, hit either slide out button, and it drops to 10% then all lights go out in RV . control module shuts down for about 5 seconds. Then everything powers back up! Happened 3 times on smaller bedroom slide. It has also popped when using power stabilizer jacks. Dealer is in process of contacting Mr. Boggs about what yhey are willing to do. There definitely is an issue, that they are not fessing up to.

David Boggs is calling B&N - (Nicky is my name) Wednesday morning. Not sure it's all the same issue but sounding similar.
One item I did found out, Ford trucks (we have a 2020), it seems to be the newer trucks that Ford changed something that the connection to the TT might not work (battery may not charge). Venture mentioned there is a fuse that might be out that needs replaced. When I talked to A&L RV in Richmond, they said they are adding the fuse when putting in break controllers. So one issue we may have, is with our Ford truck as it seems battery is not charging when towing TT.
As I go through this, I will post what I know. Right now going to see what David says in the morning. I am supposed to take my unit back in on Thursday 4/8 but waiting to hear if Venture has a solution for A&L RV in Richmond to be able to do anything.
We did add a Victron battery monitor so we don't even look at the panel anymore as the readings on panel just were not accurate. The Victron battery monitor shows the battery as pretty much full as the panel goes off and on for our TT. And the amps go down a little bit.

4/7 Okay STT272VRK going back in 4/8 Thursday. Going to check out wiring (as Fotohouse65 suggested too). And if no improvement, then trying a different IRV board for the panel. Unless something else is discovered.

On our Ford Truck, the fuse to allow truck to charge camper battery was blown not sure if the camper issue blew it but replaced with a new fuse. So we'll check the truck harness again once we get camper back. So if you do have a 12 volt issue do check your truck harness with a tester and/or double check your fuse that allows truck to charge camper. The fuse placement is in the trucks owners manual. Okay, now I'm becoming part mechanic but it's all fun!

Okay, I'm really frustrated now. Just (4/5 8:00 am) got an email from KZ Customer Support tech that is working with dealer on our 2021 STT272VRK. Bottom line (KZ customer support): Can't run off battery to get slides out. Unit built to be run on Shore Power. This is not what we were told or not advertised online this way. You have to have 30 amp. So you can't get main slide out even when connected to the tow vehicle. So working on it..... I have to say this is VERY disappointing. They claim the solar pacakge allows you to camp off grid.
