This will be the first trailer for my wife and me, so we are pretty excited about the adventures ahead (and a little nervous, lol). We live in Orange County NC (not CA) so we plan to take some short jaunts around the state and into Virginia over the next year.
After we get things shook out we plan to go out west a bit further as we have family in Iowa, South Dakota, and Colorado as well as Nebraska, Kansas, Arizona, and Washington state. We are huge fans of National Parks (only been to a few in Utah and Arizona) but want to hit many more as we missed out on Bryce and Zion.
We will be pulling it with a 2012 4Runner Limited which has a 4.0L V6 with AWD. We are getting a WDH (Fastway e2, I think) and an EBC with the trailer. I may add rear airbags if the sag is too much but hoping the WDH is enough.
Anyway... first RV trailer, first post on this forum, and first Sonic Lite thread... Open to comments or suggestions!

Picked it up today! Short 75 mile haul back from the dealer but raining heavily the entire drive. So fun! Parked it in the driveway, leveled it, extended the bump-out, and my wife and I enjoyed our first drinks and snacks in the new place!

Headed out tomorrow for our first overnight... Just down the road a piece at Jordan Lake.
All the systems have been checked out exc A/C, since I only have a 15A connection at the house. Popped the breaker just trying to test out the water heater but switched to propane and it worked fine.

Great first night at Jordan Lake in NC!
We’re headed out to another local campground over July 4th weekend for a longer shake-out.
Good news is that the dumps went smooth!

We've had a couple of successful trips with the SL169... cheesecake has already been established as a traditional dessert for our forays. Headed up to Misty Mountain campground in Virginia this coming weekend... ready to get out of town again!

I love the idea of starting an RV tradition...we’re not big cheesecakers, I’ll have to ponder this idea... 🤔 Also, is there a way to respond without “quoting” the post? Thanks!

Got it. The trick is using the desktop version, not mobile. There is not a “quick reply” option on the mobile version! Thank you! BTW, I think our tradition may be my tortilla soup, which is good hot or cold and easily morphs into chili or a very chunky dip. Bonus that it can be made and frozen ahead of time!

What’s the name of the mobile app?

Same name. It’s actually not an app, I misspoke. It’s the mobile version of the site. It defaults to the mobile on my phone (all phones, I’m assuming?), I have to click the desktop option in the bottom right of my screen.

Popped the breaker just trying to test out the water heater but switched to propane and it worked fine. Remember you can only safety use 24amps of a 30amp circuit. While your A/C is running it's using the largest chunk of the 24 available amps. Turning on the water heater gets it a lot closer of the 24 amps. With a few other times running microwave clock, refrigerator uses electric weather on Gas or propane. We only use our electric water heater for 15 minutes before we shower and the we shut it off. It stay pretty warm most of the day off. I have a tester call "Oil a Watt" and it measure ]s the power consumption of all my devices, fridge, WH, TV, microwave etc. It's a good tool to have to manage your electric power us and too know when. to use propane. Have fun.

Headed up to Misty Mountain campground in Virginia this coming weekend... ready to get out of town again! Check your black and gray tanks, I think they only have a few small flat brackets holding just the edge of the tanks. I had mine dealer add a few more brackets for more support. Our Black tank fell off on the way home from purchasing it at the dealer. We were stop setting up camp at a KOA when we heard a big crash and water flowing. It was our black tank that slipped out of the brackets on one side. The tank was in a 45 degree angle because the axle stop the tank from falling to the ground. It still broke all the pipes off and was in the shop for 5 weeks for a tank replacement. Our black tank was only 1/3 full so get the extra brackets for more support.
