A few weeks ago we were camping at Douthat State Park in Bath County, VA yes out in the country - trout fishing area. We barely had any signal and got a radio station in very faintly..... Anyway to put in Antenna on the radio or anything else who should check? When we got home we had no issue. We often leave the radio on for the dogs when we leave the trailer. Thanks all

I'm not 100% sure about the jensen system we have, but I do know automotive recievers (pre-sattellite) had tuners specific for long signal pulls. If you get a chance stop bu the auto parts store and by a standard pre-80's whip antenna and try it with your system.
I cobbled some old car stereos and use them in my barn and garage with great reception. I wouldnt expect the digital TV antenna to be helpful.
Remeber, radio waves are line of sight. So if you're in the mountains, great, in the valley, not so much.

Was the radio reception in your tow vehicle any better?

We were on the border of Virginia and West Virginia so ya lots of mountains and yes Douthat State Park is in a valley. We didn't check the tow vehicle at the time. We go back in June hopefully to trout fish. Question: If I get a whip antenna, I assume I'll have to pull out the radio to connect to the back. Think I'll go out the camper tomorrow and check out the unit maybe pull it out to see what connections there are on the back.

Was the radio reception in your tow vehicle any better? Good suggestion... We did not try. Didn't even think about it. We'll try that when we go back in June.

We have the FURRION system in our 190VRB. At our last campsite, I was look specifially for a station that carried the St. Louis Cardinals baseball game. Going on line with the radio/tv and antennae system, I noted that there is a small button on my SAT/TV plate. It specifically stated that if you are using the digital antennae, you MUST PRESS THE POWER BUTTON to activate the amplifier located in the antennae. THe amplifier is need for both digital TV signals and for radio reception.
An yes, we looked up Cardinals broadcasting network list and found WBBA out of Clarksbille, MO and listed to the Cards beat Milwaukee for their 16th straight win.
