Trucks: Newer Fords seem to be the ones. We realized our battery was not charging off the truck and found out the newer Ford trucks (ours is a 2020) may be missing the fuse that allows the truck to charge the TT battery. You would of thought that Ford would provide it with the trailer tow package, you would of thought when break controller was added it would of been checked, and you would of thought the TT dealer would of checked. Check your truck owner's manual, check the fuse placement, and double check you have a fuse. Ours was not there. One to add to the initial checklist especially with newer Ford trucks. [actually thanks to Dave Boggs at Venture for the tip].
Edit: We actually had our TT dealer test it with their tester first and the light was out for the TT battery charge connection. Have your truck connection tested when at a TT dealer or when you get a new TT.
Edit 2: Just learned there may be a plastic bag in glove box with the fuse in it so I will be checking that out.

Easy way to check for the tow vehicle charging, is to check the camper battery voltage. Then plug the 7 pin connector in. Start the tow vehicle and see if the camper battery voltage increases.

Actually we looked at wrong slot... when looking at the right fuse.. it was blown. So got new fuse and will retest with camper hooked up. We have a 12 volt issue and maybe it blew it? Anyway will have to experiment once we get camper back for warranty work.

We had the same problem with our Ford and discovered that the fuse and the relay were in a little plastic bag in the glove box. The owners manual had a great diagram of where they should be. Popped them in and haven't had an issue since.
Also the dealer told us that we should make sure that the pigtail is disconnected from the truck when we hook up shore power because it might blow the fuse.

Thanks... Ya it was actually blown. So we'll have to make sure the were disconnected before hooking to shore power. Not sure if we did that but definitely something to manage in the right way.
