We have a FURION 780P 32" TV for the camper.
In looking into campgrounds, most of them are dumping cable or satellite connections for WIFI. So what do you do for your cable/Sat TV if its not a smart TV?
Will a FIRESTICK (Amazon) work? How about a KODI box?
Do we stop using the satellite connection on the outside?

Kodi is not really good at streaming from the internet. My home smart TV is Roku, and I really like it. Amazon Firestick is good too. Most smart TV and streaming boxes/sticks are not very good at picking up weak WiFi signals so you will probably want to get a WiFi extender as well. Or, if you really want to get fancy (and expensive) get the King WiFi extender with an antenna on the roof. I hear most campground WiFi is too slow for streaming during busy times, so you will probably want to consider a cell phone signal WiFi hotspot. Or, just get your own satellite setup.

Thanks Navy! I have a fire stick I can bring from home. The TV is only 780P so I don't expect to be watching it except for weather and news. The trailer comes with digital antenna so I guess that might work as backup .
I was wondering if a laptop, with WIFI could be synced to the TV like an extra screen. Need to look into that. Again, didn't by the camper to sit inside and watch it, nor sit outside and watch it.

I can use my Roku TV as second screen for both laptop computer and phone. In the trailer I have Kodi running on a Raspberry Pi single chip computer and I can also project to that as well. I am not sure if Firestick has that capability built in, but my guess would be that it does. And yes, there are still over the air TV channels. The omni-directional antenna I have on the Sonic is way better than the directional antenna I had on my previous trailer.

A good trick is to open up your movies to stream on your laptop or phone and use a hard cable from let's say a iPhone, lightning cable from phone to HDMI to back of TV. What you see on your phone or laptop screen will be on your TV and you don't use your Hotspot, it uses your regular data so if you have unlimited data plan you can watch Netflix until the cows come home. Using your Hotspot is limited and when you exhaust that your service is at a crawl and hardly usable.
