Hi All! My family and I are really excited to have our new Sonic X. However, we've had some issues with the electrical system and I'm trying to get an idea of "normal" performance for these trailers. The main issue is that, for a system that touts "run the A/C for 4-5 hours without a charge", but we can't even run our refrigerator without a charge. From a full battery, not hooked up to shore power, the electrical system will throw a UVP code (Under Voltage Protection) with just the inverter and refrigerator running (micro clock and stereo clock too) after about 24 hours. This means the camper shuts itself off and I can't even turn on an LED overhead light in the morning. This happens even when the rig is in direct sunlight all day (in Bend, OR). Is this typical? I'd love to hear some feedback. Please feel free to call or text me as well at 775-303-6192. Thanks!

Make sure you have the 250 amp hour lithium ion battery installed and not a standard lead acid battery. Also, the trailer has a 2000 watt inverter. 2000 watts at 12 volts is about 166 amps so you do need to watch your loads. Look in the refrigerator for a label that will tell you how many amps it uses, it might be on the frame visible only when the door is open. Also, if the refrigerator is LP gas capable, run it on LP gas.

We always run the refrigerator on gas when not connect to shore power. Never had any AC issues - even running tests we were able to run AC for about 8 hrs on solar (settings on low and slow). Try LP on the frig and see.

FYI We've got the STT272VRK, we can't run off of battery. Went in for warranty work in Feb... we picked it up to camp on Shore power mid-March and brought it back to dealer April 9. Still at dealer working with Venture to try and figure it out. So a few of us have run into issues running off 12-volt/battery. I've posted in the General RV. Venture promises they find out what is up with our camper but it's been a real challenge for the dealer and venture. I called Friday and they keep checking things. The challenge is Venture approves one thing at a time and the dealer then tries one thing. Then has to circle back to Venture. Crazy but I'm believing they will figure it out. We couldn't run 12 volt fridge at all ... battery just died. We couldn't even get the slides out on battery - panel shuts off. Something that the 35amp fuse is tripping with the slide motor.

Thanks so much, everyone. It sounds like my expectations, and the energy source for my refrigerator, might need to be adjusted!

We are having a very similar issue with our Sonic X (220VRB). We purchased it last summer and on our third outing (Labor Day) lost all power - they told us to disconnect the battery for 20-30 minutes and allow to reset. We had to do this multiple times. Took into the dealer and they had it for over 6 weeks this fall - stating that this is a known issue with the battery and Go Power inverter. They told us they replaced the battery and inverter. While in our driveway this Spring it worked well but as soon as were ready to take our first camp trip of this summer, it stopped working again. The fridge does not flip to propane like it is supposed to because everything is controlled by the inverter. The battery/inverter will show fully charged but there isn't even enough power sometimes to work the slide. We can reset the battery by disconnecting but sometimes only have seconds of power before you have to do it all over again. So very frustrating. After the 110 F camp trip at Mount Ranier (no power for fan or AC or fridge/freezer), we took it back to the dealer. They had it for 3 weeks. State that they replaced the battery and inverter again. Had a big trip (Bend, Crater Lake, Oregon Coast, Redwoods, etc.) Things worked while on full hookups but in the campsites without, we would lose power at 3 in the morning and even if fridge is on propane, the inverter shuts it off. Now some of electrical plugs will only work while generator is running. As soon as the generator stops running, the plugs don't work. Returned from this most recent trip and the trailer is now back at the dealer. We are very frustrated because one of the reasons we bought this trailer was because of the solar/propane/generator/shore power options.
Would love to know if you have had any success in getting your issue resolved.

Try LP on the frig and see. obxbeachdogs were you running it during the day? Did you test at night? Ours is a Sonic X SN211VDBX and we had a full battery going into the night, ran the AirCon twice for 20-30 minutes each time, with a small house fan plugged in the rest of the night. We tried to turn on the AC a 3rd time in the middle of the night, but the battery then read empty. The refrigerator was running on LP, but even that didn’t have enough voltage to keep lit. The night before we did the same thing without issue. Any thoughts on this? I really appreciate the help!!

We are also having issues. All 4 solar panels are dead. We have just a few hours on the battery even without AC on and refrigerator on propane.

We got our solar panels replaced and the battery still is not working.

So we have now replaced all 4 solar panels and have received confirmation form the dealership that our battery is also bad. They are submitting paperwork together us a new one.

We are still having issues with this system. It is ridiculous and the problems are very inconsistent. Go Power is trying to help but the battery monitor was never installed on our unit so we are waiting for one on backorder.
