Hi Folks! We are fairly new rvers. We recently bought a 2019 Sonic 200VML. Could someone give me an opinion on greasing the slide gear/track? Some people say greasing them just causes debri to build up and cause a mess..leave it ungreased, or maybe a light silicone spray. Any tried and true experiences would be appreciated.

Just thought I'd check the "Owners Manual" for that unit. That was a waste of time. I like the WD40 Dry Lube for a lot of things.

For SportTrek, I contacted the manufacturer BAL NXG, attached is what they sent me on the slide. If the slide is a BAL NXG (it was noted on the Venture web page), use Dupont Chain Saver Wax Based Chain lube. (the pdf is showing a preview picture SO LUBRICATION INSTRUCTIONS in the PDF below) Lubrication Instructions BAL NXG slideout.pdf (327.85 KB)

Thanks for the recommendation. I think its safe to say, don't use grease! I ordered some of the spray.

Any type of lubricant will attract dust and eventually clog up. Grease is not recommended. I use a spray lubricant called triflow on my slide rails. Occasionally I will wipe down the slide rails, particularly the top of them, with a rag to clean them up. Obviously with the slide in the out position. Respray them lightly and cycle the slide in and out a couple of times to ensure its moving smoothly and normally. I also recommend to only operate the slide with the trailer level and supported on all leveling jacks to ensure there is no binding or excess stress on the unit.
