So we took the new TT out for the second time and now there is another issue. Starting to get annoyed that the quality inspection on this was not done or not done correctly. When we went to dump the waste holding tanks, the valves were very hard to pull out. Finally got them open and drained and then when we went to close them they wouldn't close and it looks like on one the rod is starting to bend and now it won't fully close so we have leakage out of the main tube. Its almost as if something is blocking it. So another call to the dealer today as we want this fixed asap. We leave for an extended trip in 3 weeks and when I called a week ago to get service they can't get us in until the end of June. At this point if they can't get us in I will take it somewhere else or fix ourselves and they can reimburse us. I get that they are busy but waiting 3-4 weeks for repairs that shouldn't even need to be done on a new unit is unacceptable.
Has anyone had this holding tank valve issue?
Update: I called the dealer and they are getting my TT in next week. I went over all the issues and told them I need it back by June 5th. They said they will have it done for me. I've only had this TT for 5 weeks and have taken it out twice. Hopefully this is the end of the issues that should have been fixed before they put it in the lot for sale. Yes, we can fix ourselves as we are capable but we shouldn't have to. This is our 4th camper in 20+ years so we are used to doing most repairs ourselves.

I've never had this problem, nor have I ever heard of anyone else having this problem. The worst issue I ever had with the holding tank valves was my grey tank was tough to open the first use of the season and the upper part of the "T" handle broke off. This didnt affect the valve operation though, I could still grab the shaft and open and close it. That was on an older camper. It's definitely possible that there was a defective valve installed from factory. But this is the first time I've ever seen this.

I have issues with service as well. Had my camper in since mid-January, and still not done. I need it back!!! Regarding the sewage issue. You can buy a secondary twist on valve. Not a great solution, but it may get you past this issue until they can fix it properly.
Good luck!

Actually the valves do fail from time to time n RV's, But to have the problem you have first time out is a bit puzzling. As an aside, we had a valve fail on our Montana, and dealer appointments backed up(bad pun), so I replaced it myself with my son's help. Actually was quicker and cheaper for us to do it, considering the time and travel expense to get to our dealer.
Now for my usual rant on this: As for your dealer, once again this illustrates the dealer is the weak link on the chain from manufacturer to customer. They should have found any issues on the PDI when they were supposedly going over all the systems, connections, etc. when they got delivery to their lot. Now you are in a pinch because they are not supporting you as a new owner. Bad on them.
I would go over their head and contact Venture, explain the situation with the dealer dragging their feet, and get an ok to have another shop do the work. Considering the shortage of RV techs, and the season starting, it still might be a bit tough to get it done immediately. Hopefully you will get it fixed.
I did like the suggestion as a temporary fix to put on a twist-on secondary valve if you need to to get by.

I second what Jim said in regard to PDI. I am filing so many issues with our 2021 STT213VBH. It is disgusting that we, as consumers, have to deal with all this crap when a complete and professional inspection would take car if it.

I think every dealer should offer a one night free stay at a local campground and a service appointment the next day :-). With instructions to fill up the fresh water tank and turn off the circuit breaker at the pedestal overnight. Do everything in the RV - cook, take a shower, run the A/C, run the furnace, operate the water heater on gas and electric, run the fridge on gas and electric, do everything possible. Heck, maybe even just offer to spend the night in your RV on their lot...and they will check in on you the next morning to see how everything worked! I guess the "overnight PDI" would have to include dumping the holding tanks too.
