Recently purchased a venture tt model 281bh. The brochures say that this unit is wifi ready. I cannot find any info on the unit how it has been prepped for wifi. It has a blank plate on the ceiling in the bedroom but has nothing behind it. Is their any wiring schematics or any info on how it was prepped?

I had the same issue when we got our rv also. Not sure if you figured it out but if you still need help I can help you because I installed the king wifi router and antenna in my sporttreck rv. They tape the wire to the coaxil cable it took me a couple of weeks to figure it out.

What is the cable that you found taped up to coaxial for. I would like to install the king WiFi as you did. Can you elaborate on this install. Much appreciated

I just installed mine last weekend. Going to get a right-angle SMA adapter so the cable comes through the inside wall of the cabinet instead. Stupid useless hole they made. Basically it attaches to the antenna input on the King router, which pulls the signal from the rooftop antenna. I labeled it for my own sanity. The other antennas are not removable and create your own private WiFi LAN. Next challenge is to route the AC adapter cord up into the cabinet to make it an invisible, clean installation. Then I may find a use for that space above the radio.

So if I understand correctly, this cable is pre-run through the RV so you don't have to cut any holes. It connects to the router on the inside and the antenna on the outside. Where was the cable hiding on the rooftop to connect it to the antenna?

denlewis, I found a plug cover with the King Wifi Sticker on bedroom ceiling, and behind it was a cable. However this would require me to mount the Wifi Router to the wall where I have a "TV Mount" sticker. I ended up just using the Antenna that was included in the Kind Wifi Router and repeated the campsite wifi(but created my own network). Only annoying this was I had to reset the router every 24 hours, but I assume that's related to the campground.

This is an interesting thread. It seems like a contest from Venture for you to figure out where the Kin Wifi hooks up at. We have a label for it on one of our front kitchen cabinets, but I haven't investigated it yet to see. I'll check it out and contribute for future posters when I can get to it. Definitely following.

eddierickey thanks for the guidance. I can't find anything up there. I pulled the cable tv plate and couldn't find any other cable taped to it. I was told by the dealer that the sticker just meant there was a hole there and they would be happy to install an antenna and router for me. The interesting thing is that they recommended a Winegaurd all in one (TV, WIFI, Cell) antenna. I'm thinking they just didn't run the cable and it should be covered under warranty. Attachments:

Hello, We purchased a 327VIK and would like to add the king connect router to the antenna. When we removed the "Pre-Wired" cover there is no wiring there. No instructions on how to find the wiring in the antenna to pull through the roofing. Can anyone give me some pointers on how to proceed?

Hi dds, all,
We too have a 2020 Sportrek 327VIK and there is no cable under the "prewired" KingWifi plate. I put some fish tape up there but couldnt find anything and it wasnt taped to the regular antenna coax. Have not bothered to call the dealer as they changed ownership last year but has anyone pulled their roof antenna to see if there is a wire there? If its there, I can hook a tone generator and figure out where its running but wondering if it was never installed.

I use a borescope before cutting holes in walls, looking for electrical and plumbing runs. This may help locate the wire if it was actually installed. Tone generator may be faster, if you can find something to hook it to. smile.amazon.com/Endoscope-Waterproof-Industrial-Borescope-Compatible/dp/B092M725P5/ref=sr_1_18?dchild=1&keywords=borescope&qid=1619129701&sr=8-18

The King WiFi pre-wire typically goes to the base of the TV antenna on the roof. There is a port on the base of the TV antenna that can be opened up to bring the WiFi antenna cable to the outside and routed to a second WiFi antenna.

Thanks navylcdr, Next time Im at the camper, I'll crawl up on the roof and see if there is a cable there. Since I didnt find one behind the prewired plate anywhere, Im guessing they never ran it. Does anyone know if this was supposed to be a dealer install or done at the factory?

Does anyone know if this was supposed to be a dealer install or done at the factory? It is done at the factory. The antenna wire may not be directly behind the prewired plate. My prewired plate is in a cabinet ceiling below the compartment containing all the wiring for radio and tv. My antenna wired is coiled up inside that compartment and to actually use it I would have to remove the radio/DVD player to get inside that compartment to retrieve the antenna cable.

I was at the camper this weekend and pulled the king roof antenna off and found the other end. I hooked up a tone generator and found the inside wire running to about 1.5 feet away of where the prewired hole was but wasnt able to fish it. I think I'll have to put another hole there where I marked the end to help fish it and then just cover it with another blank plate :-(
