We just purchased a 2020 Sonic X and we were surprised at the lack of manuals and literature. There is nothing on the NDW water filters, the manual supplied is from a 2019 Sonic Lite, very generic, no awning manual, and we had a devil of a time with keys. It is advertised as "One Key Fits All". The door and hatch all use one key, the garage uses a different key and we have no keys at all for the lock box or rifle/fishing rod safe. Our first trip is next week but we are a bit disheartened at the lack of info.

I'm considering the Sonic X 211VDBX. Curious how you're enjoying yours (minus the manuals). I'm 6'5 and like the fact the interior is 6'10". Curious if you think the shower is a good size. What are you towing yours with too?

We love the Sonic X but have some issues and more than just the manual. We have a major key issue and Venture does not respond, in fact if you call customer service you get a message to call another time. The dealer has been trying to resolve this but we just received something pretty stupid from KZ. Here is the issue: They have a sign near the door that says “One Key Fits All”. First, pretty stupid putting that sign outside the camper for all to see. I’m shopping for a state sticker to cover it. We received a set of two purple keys. They fit the main door and the two holds. They do not fit the “garage” so the dealer gave us a green key (1) for just the garage. Inside there are two locks for the rifle/fishing rod safe and one lock for the handgun safe. We have NO keys for any of these and none of the keys given to us work. Then there is the outside shower lock, which is another key, except it can be opened with a fingernail, meaning it does not lock. Today we received two replacement tumblers for the front door, at least that is what it says. I do not need new tumblers, I need keys to the gun safe and one key to handle all the other doors as advertised.
Ok, I’m grumbling about the lack of response from KZ, but to answer your question I am 5’6 and replaced the shower head with an O2 head which raised it up, but I think you would still be hitting your head. You step up about 6” to get into the shower, and my wife is saying you will have a problem with the bed.

We are also some what new owners, we bought the very first unit built last November. I found there are some youtube videos that I found useful. Be sure to put Sonic X in the search or you will get sonic the hedge hog cartoons, lol. If you are still looking for info on those filters, contact Curtis Trailers in Hillsboro Oregon, they have had to order for me so they know what you will need. I have also had trouble finding the garage system parts, and have found that KZ Venture are totally worthless as far as ever responding to an email or a voice mail. Next November when the RV show is going on here in Portland, I will be there to have a face to face with their sales representative and tell them that and get a business card with their personal number.

Thanks Sonicnumberone. Good idea going to the RV show and talking to Venture. I will be at Curtis on Monday and will have them order me replacement filters. I am very surprised at Venture and KZ. I had a KZ Sportsman Coyote years ago and it was a wonderful camper. But for the Sonic X there are so many "systems" that need explaining that I have had to rely on the youtube videos also. The one on the NDW system is ok and I have had to go to Go Power for info on the solar system, when and how to use the inverter, etc. We love the camper but are very disappointed in the support from Venture. And they need to come up with an actual manual on it. The manual on the Sonic Lite just doesn't cut it. Yesterday I finally tested the NDW system and figured it out as well as how long it will take to fill the fresh water tank (34 minutes). We have also had problems with the bed staying up when traveling. I replaced the pan head screw with a counter sink screw to get the latch to lay flatter but still when we arrive somewhere the bed has fallen. Right now I am using a piece of painters tape to hold it closed when we are driving. Have you had the same issue?

We have not had the issue with the bed but did have that problem with the fridge doing that, which got messy. That got all fixed. But we have had a major problem with the Go Power throwing numerous fault codes and shutting down, which is only fixed by opening the battery case and disconnecting the battery for 15 minutes and reconnecting to power up the trailer. This only happens when hooked to shore power. It has been at Curtis for weeks now but to no avail...it now has the company of two more X's that are having a similar problem. Either Go Power or KZ need to step up and replace the systems to a more proven system...my opinion.

Sorry you are having electrical issues. I have to say Curtis was very responsive to my issues and finally got everything fixed. I did notice that the sales people there are not well trained on the Sonic X. For example they told me not to use an anode rod in the HW heater but the literature for the heater said to use one. Venture needs to produce a manual for the Sonic X. There are too many differences to use the Sonic Lite 2019 manual.

I assume Venture is not monitoring their forum. This should be a red flag to Customer Service. Our one "key fits all" key does not fit our outdoor shower door.

We have a different unit STT272VRK and we have a separate key for the outdoor shower door. We have one key that fits everything else. Perhaps check with dealer to see about a second key. One key is purple and one is black.

One key is purple and one is black. Same with our 343VIK. I also removed all the stickers that said “one key fits all” and will probably look into keyless entries in the near future.

One key is purple and one is black. Always make the dealer provide a set of spare keys. Our keys were a mess. The outside shower uses a standard CH751 key which you can purchase at any RV supply place. But we had too many keys (read my earlier post). Finally we got them straightened out and I insisted on a different key for the lock box and gun rack. It’s not very secure to have the door key also lock the guns. And I found a sticker to cover the “one key fits all” sticker Venture puts on. Again, ridiculous to advertise that. A note on the keyless entry. The Bauer fits but everything I read said it is impossible to get it tight. It always loosens which makes it difficult to open the door. We were going to get one but after reading the reviews chose not too.

Wonder how that would work in the Northeast, once they learn to watch out for Venture campers. Agree on the different key for lock box and rack. I need to remove the stickers (dealer, rv association, same key, etc.) next week when we head to the coast.

Hello! We just purchased a 2021 Sonic X SN211VDBX. Has there been any update on the manuals for it?
I’ve contacted Venture through their website and via phone, but have not gotten a response.
