Every time we go to leave our cat Charlie runs under the storage openings under the jackknife sofa and hides. It's a pain getting him out to put him in his carrying pen. We've used foam board to cover the openings the night before leaving but got tired of this. I purchased some craft oak strips (1/4 inch thick) and made some panels to cover the openings. I used aluminum mesh (used for hot water rads) within the frames I made. Works great and provides ventilation under the sofa. The night before we leave we cover the openings, easily allowing us to scoop the cat in the morning and put him in his carrier. I put velcro on the panels so they stay upright.

Thanks, They work well and we think they look so much better than blk foam board.
