12V refer fuse replacement 003.docx (3.2 MB)We are camping at the Blanco State Park and discovered the refrigerator fuse is blown. This is a unique Furrion fuse the is located in back of the refrigerator and can only be accessed by removing the refrigerator. I understand that Furrion is aware of their really gross design flaw and has a kit out to solve their engineering mistake. If you have one of these refrigerators, I recommend you take action to make sure the kit is installed. Ideally, the fuse should be a standard located in an location you can access without removing the refrigerator. Put the trailer in United RV of Ft Worth, TX on 09/10/21 to repair the refrigerator since it has a 2 year warranty. The Furrion recall replaces the proprietary fuse with an attainable blade fuse leaving it in the same inaccessible location. I'm also having them check the solar system since it appears that it is not working and check the battery since the trailer sat over night and the battery did not have enough power to retract the slide. The service technician said that since they know the refrigerator has a recall, it may only take two weeks. Anything else will take at least seven weeks. Its disturbing to purchase a new RV and you can't get it serviced under warranty in a reasonable period of time. My 12V fuse panel has a spare fuse position. After the warranty period, I may extend the compressor fuse wiring to the spare position in the 12V fuse panel. It has the advantage of being easily accessed plus it has an indicator light that lights when a fuse blows.

Talked with Furrion tech support. She said that if your sticker inside your fridge shows R600 refrigerant you have the updated blade style fuse however it is still located on the back of the refrigerator. New builds will have the fuse on the front. Might just pull my fridge out to confirm.

I do know that my box uses R600.

Greetings. Long time camper here; new Venture owner AND 1st time having a 12V refrigerator. When we have our fridge running it generates a fairly loud hum that can be annoying during the night. Is this typical for the 12V Furrion? Our rig is a 2022 Sporttrek 291VRK. Thanks, Benjamin

The majority of the noise is from the condenser fan motor. Congrats on the new rig!

Second campout last month, my Furrion freezer, had liquid & frozen condensation in it. took pictures and email to dealership, took to dealership. hope this helps someone here is the email statement from the dealership All services are completed. We have moved it over to our shop foreman to quality check the work. As far as the fridge it was the doors not being held closed tight enough. The latch receiver is not seated against the face of the refrigerator allowing some play in the door latch (light pressure on either door will cause them to open slightly). This was his fix: Unmounted latch receiver and removed two washers that were mounted behind it. These can be seen in the pics. Running refrigerator for 26 to 36 hours to check for condensation/frosting.
