Hi All, I'm familiar with winterizing using RV antifreeze, have done it many times on various campers I have owned. All had the hot water tank bypass valves installed and a two way valve at the water pump to switch from drawing water from the fresh water tank to a hose that goes into the antifreeze bottle. My question is, my 251 VRK is the first camper I have owned that has the hose connection on the rear of the camper for flushing the black holding tank. Does anyone know if that connection to the black holding tank fully drains into the black tank? My concern is it might have some water in the line that could freeze over the winter. Other than blowing some air through it there is no way to winterize it. Should I be concerned about it?

I live in Wisconsin, never did anything with black tank flush. Never had any problems.

Blow it out. There could be standing water in it from the hose inlet to the vacuum breaker under the cabinet.

Don't disagree with blowing it out, but probably not necessary. The key concern for winterizing is water trapped in confined spaces like valves and pumps. That flush line is just a hose that leads to the black tank. Any trapped water will have room to expand as it freezes. I live in Iowa where we get super cold winters and haven't had a problem.

I always blow it out as well. But, as mentioned, left over water is the biggest concern. I always put anti-freeze (RV safe version) into the drains and toilet. Enough to also get to the shut-off valves by the sewer connections.

I did blow it out. Not with compressed air, just hooked a very short hose and blew air with my mouth. Felt a small amount of water blow thru until it went very easy. Should be good. Thanks all for your replies.
