We have a new Sonic X and the sell brochure says it is "King Wifi Prep". Although we could not care less about TV we would love to have Wifi when we camp. Since there is no owner's manual for the Sonic X can anyone explain what the King Wifi Prep means? I went on King's website and only found wifi extenders which are useless when you are in a campground in a National Park with no signal available. And where is the "prep"? Is there an existing antenna on the roof or are we wired for it already? And where are the wires?

I just read something about this on the Facebook page regarding the kind Wifi. Go to the Venture Sonic, Sonic Lite, SportTrek and Stratus RV Owners page
"If your rv is prewired, pull the cover plate off and there is a wire to attach to the router for the antenna on the roof."
Not sure this is helpful but just leading you to somewhere maybe you can get answers. I know I never would know to look under the plate for a wire.

I will do that. Thanks.
I remember seeing a blank plate. But I assumed the antenna was wired to the plate behind the TV, which has two connections, one cable and one to the roof antenna. The blank plate is no where near that plate.

Behind the plate is a coaxial cable that SHOULD be connected to a King antenna on your roof. Pull this cable out via the “handy” electrical tape wrap, amd connect it to the antenna input on any WiFi repeater, in this case the King KM1000. I’m installing the King router inside the adjacent cabinet, so I will be poking a new hole in the inside wall of the cabinet above the router and re-routing the cable through there. The AC adapter is plugged into the outlet on the underneath side of this overhead cabinet so will route the power cord between the cabinet and the outside wall for a clean-ish installation.

Hi All, Just purchased a Venture 231RVB, says it has King WiFi Prep installed. What exactly is it? We've been using an ATT hotspot for years in the RV. Will this work with our hotspot? We don't take delivery for another week so no manuals in hand. Just trying to learn a bit more before we get to the delivery. Thanks, Jazmateta

Just got a reply from KZ. The King antenna is not included with the prep. All that is included is the coax wiring. He said the King antenna will connect to the antenna that is already on the roof. I assume he was referencing the TV antenna.

The wifi cable will be under the plate that is marked on the inside. On the roof end, you will find the cable in the housing of tv antenna. I bought the king Falcon. It is a motorized directional that works awesome. It comes with the king 1000 router. There is a Knock out on the side of the antenna housing. The weather proof nut comes with the Falcon set up. You still need a tube of dicor and need to mount the wifi antenna on the roof, but the cable is already run. Mine was a B—-ch to fish the cable inside, but a piece of cake on the roof roof

Anyone know what size screws can be used on the roof to mount the King Falcon booster?

Some people unscrew their TV antenna and uses one of the already screw/bolt going the roof. So I guess the mounting bracket just slide over the hole and them remount the TV antenna. The King wifi mini coax behind the TV goes up and across the attic and comes up thru the base of the TV antenna. That's why some people just mount the wifi antenna over one of the TV antenna screws or lag bolts. It's hard to see exactly what type of screws or lag bolts are there because mine are all covered in the self leveling caulking. The King prep means there is only a cable nothing else. Id you just buy the King Wifi Max, it is only a router and no antenna. The router has 4 antennas one is for receiving and the others are transmitting or just the opposite. If you buy the King Wifi Swift, it comes with a roof antenna and a mini coax. The coax is not need if the coax is already there. The kit comes with a couple different mounting brackets. I'm in the beginning stage of installing mine King external roof antenna, but before I dismantle buy tv roof antenna I need to find out if I can just remove the top part to get access to the King wifi cable? It's hard to do some of these installs especially if your on the road and don't have access to all your tools at home : o

Can I remove the antenna's top to gain access to the mini coax King Wifi cable by removing the top screw or do I need to remove the base screws? Attachments:IMG_0204.HEIC (911.31 KB)
