We own a 2021 Sonic 231VRL and are looking to install a small TV in the bedroom area, unfortunately the sticker that was there originally was removed during some warranty work. I am not sure where the backer is in the wall and I have tried to reach out to KZ to find out where it is and what it is made of. I was wondering if anyone else has tried to install a TV bracket and if they could help me locate the proper area.

I was told on my SL169VRK tv support in the wall was metal to just use a magnet to find it. But when I had the dealer remote my TV they said the in wall support was wood not metal. There is a device that is called Walbot, it looks like the size of a cell phone. There's 2 different version one is for android phones and one for Apple phones. Attach the Walbot to the cell phone and it has x-ray vision and can see thru walls, locate wires, pipes, studs even mice. I always wanted one but Santa never heard my wishes : ( You can she out Walbot on YouTube videos.

Even though my Sportrek ST190VTH had the sticker, it was off by 2 inches.......My Walabot found the "brace", a stick of furring strip vertically mounted. Use caution in mounting your tv bracket, the wood is as soft as balsa wood.

My 2021 327VIK has two TV backer stickers - one in the main bedroom and one in the bunkhouse. The bedroom backer is large - probably six inches across - and made of metal. The backer in the bunkhouse is also metal but appears to be about two inches wide. I used a neomydium magnet to penetrate the wood / paneling to find the backers.

Here's the sticker, in the center of the red circle:

You could use some small finish nails and see if you hit a stud somewhere. There could be a wood plate or metal plate for the mount but a stud works too. make sure you predrill the screw holes and use large lag bolts for the mount. And if your tv swivels out to different viewing angles you want to make sure your can still move the TV around a corner if it suppose to do that. Our TV in our 169VRk point to the bed and can be pulled out away from wall and move around a corner 180 degrees so you can view the TV from the dining area. The dealer had to remount our TV when it pulled out of the wall during transportation from factory in Indianas to dealer in Utah. The dealer mounted the tv mount just a couple inches the wrong direction and then the TV would no longer swing around the corner. I had to have our local dealer under warranty to remount the TV in the original place with bigger screws. I swapped out the 23" for a 40" and so far no problems.

A stud finder will find the studs just like you would in a house. When I installed my tv, I installed a 3/4" board to the wall with screws and liquid nails and attached the mount to that.

These are all great ideas and good information to have. I have tried the stud finder and it was very confusing as to what it was finding in the wall. I even went and bought one of those Walabot things and after a couple of hours hunting around the wall I boxed it up and sent it back . Next time I go out to the trailer I am going to try to find a magnet and use that, I feel that it might be my best bet....thanks again.

My TV mount was wood on my 169VRK. The dealer that remounted my TV said the factory lag bolts pushed the tv brace inside the wall away from the screwing in. The dealer said they predrilled holes 1st and then screwed the lags in and then the lags grabbed the brace and pulled it in tight.
