Our Sonic 231VRL has an iRV62 head unit. That has to be in “TVAudio” or “TVAudio2”, I believe. They also had the HDMI cable plugged into a regular HDMI port on the TV. It needs to be in the ARC HDMI Port.
I also use a Roku and plug that into the front HDMI port. Then, the iRV62 needs to be set to “F-HDMI”.
Good luck!

HDMI cable from the back of the stereo/dvd player to the HDMI ARC port on the tv. On my TV that is HDMI 2. On the IRV stereo it is TV-Audio 2. My Roku is plugged into HDMI 1 on the back of the TV set. Its sound still goes the HDMI ARC channel to the stereo/DVD player.

I switched my Firestick to HDMI2 on the tv and the IRV62 to TV Audio 2 and now the tv plays thru the ceiling speakers. Works great thanks for the help. Now moving on to another project of installing a back splash behind the stovetop. Venture told me me they us to install back splashes o the trailers but to due to inventory shortages they shipped the trailers without back splashes. To compensate they sent me 2 Venter-RV caps : o

I have been trying to figure that out since Aril. And thanks to OP for asking the question.

I did everything that everyone on this thread did. I plug my radio into ARC and my firestick into HDMI1 and put my iRv 62 to all the tv settings available and no joy. Does the zone matter?

Make sure that ARC is set up in the TV's settings menu. Also, sometimes the TV has a hard time detecting the stereo plugged into the ARC HDMI port. The IRv 62 should be set to TV Audio 2. Then try unplugging the TV from power and plugging it back in. Zones only selects which speakers will play the sound, either inside (should be Zone 1) or outside (should be Zone 2). Also, you might want to make sure the HDMI cable is plugged into the back of the stereo by playing a DVD.

Will check if arc is setup. Also I can not select an exterior speaker on the tv only the tv speakers will that make difference?

Is the HDMI port on the TV that the DVD player/stereo connected to labelled as ARC? Your TV may not support HDMI ARC. Also, the ARC settings will be in the settings menu for HDMI and connections, not necessarily in the audio menu.

Arc is there and I changed the dvd player to HDMI1 and put the fire stick there. There is no arc setup in my tv setup.

On my TV, the ARC port is HDMI2, which is where the DVD player/stereo unit is connected. I've got a Roku on HDMI 1 and a Raspberry Pi with KODI on HDMI 3. The HDMI cable coming from the DVD player/stereo unit needs to be plugged into the HDMI port that is labelled ARC.

I went thru my Audio system trying to figure out how to play my TV sound thru the ceiling speakers via the cd/radio audio system, is that possible? I managed to figure it out. I pulled out the Sterio and in the back there is 2 RCA plugs for Audio in. I attached them to the back of my TV audio out and it works like a charm. It's really simple. I don't know why they didn't add the RCA cable when built!
