Went out to he trailer yesterday afternoon, getting ready to leave for a trip, and the door was stuck in the closed position, it is not lock related. In trying too open the door I had no success at all, not any movement anywhere. I had to wait until late afternoon to get in! Yes, it was hot at 104 degrees but that should not have affected the door, but it did. I'm sending some pictures that show the problem. The door itself is square at 24 7/8" wide top to bottom. However the opening is not. It is 25 ½" at the top of the frame and 25 5/16" at the bottom of the frame, refer to pictures and you will see where pinching is happening, and this is before it gets hot when the door is going to expand. I also found at the bottom of the frame, a gouge into the aluminum door frame happening from a screw head at the bottom of the door itself. Anyone have a suggestion as to what I can do short of taking it back and getting in the service backlog line? So what happened; The heat of yesterday was 104 here, only going to get hotter this week, I'm sure this will happen again today, the heat is expanding the door. I mean, you would not have believed how stuck the door was. Four hours latter the sun was in a different position and the door was in shade, plus spraying water on the door as well helped lessened the expansion and I was able to force the door open by holding the door handle and pulling on the bottom of the door at the same time. Anyone have any suggestions, can I remove material from the door by removing the edge molding? then reinstall after I remove some material? Has anyone had this problem? . Attachments:

Ensure your RV is truly leveled. It does not take much twist to pin the door in the frame. Also, if you have the solid steps that fold down from inside the door way, ensure they are down low enough. I had mine adjusted a little high and it made the door very hard to open.

I would start with the trim material on the door 1st, maybe just removing or replacing one piece of trim might do the trick. I would check with factory you never know if the construction fame might have a longer warranty or recall.

What does the screw head look like? If it is a pan head, it could be replaced with a flat head screw. You could dimple the hole so the flat head screw would pull down flush.

Yes, checked for level and for binding as a result of not being level, all is good in that department, checked the trim. yes the screw was a roundhead, and I did change it out with a flathead and sinking it a bit further. So last night I wrote the factory, didn't think I' hear from them for a while, but.....they responded this mid morning. Asked me to take to a certified service shop of theirs to have them check it out. I was to pick one and they will call it to set up the appointment. I'm headed out this week, but when I get back that is exactly what I will do. We are going to the higher elevations and the door don't get stuck where it is cooler. It still comes down to the door opening not being square. It's just over 3/16" tighter at the bottom than at the top.
Thank you all with your responses and suggestions, I'll update after they check it out.
