I want to upgrade the straight shower rod to a bowed shower rod to give us more elbow room. Has anyone done this and what and where did you buy it? I think my shower rod is 36" long.

I got the swivel type shower rod from Camping world for $60 and tried to install it this weekend. My original shower rod mount left me with a bad feeling, the existing shower rod was super light and the end brackets were only screwed into the shower wall plastic maybe 1/32" thickness but was not screwed into the wall behind the shower plastic enclosure. A ant's breath would probably make to fall out. The new swivel shower rod was heavy duty steel and weighed 20 times more than the original rod. Where the existing brackets were there was no stud and no place to mount the new brackets except into the thin fiber board wall. I scrapped the project will return rod back to Camping World. The new rod was min 36' to extend to 48", my shower was 36" which would force the shower curtain out 24" into and over the bath sink. Kind of a over kill for just a little need elbow room. I will look for a curve light weight rod that can be cut for length and just use the existing brackets. The journey begins : )
