Hi there! We just bought a new 343VIK sporttrek touring edition. This is our first travel trailer, and we are taking it out next week for the first time. For some reason it went from 100 degrees to 40 within two weeks here in TN. It made me curious. Does running the propane heat keep the waterlines from freezing if it gets that cold here in the next month or so?

It should as long as you don't lose power. Even running propane, you'll still need power for the fan. Once the heat is not circulated through the underbelly, things can freeze. No substitute for winterizing.
Googled: From the Venture website:
Weather-Shield Package (Mandatory) Forced air heated & enclosed underbelly

Your water hoses and blank tank flush hoes can freeze too while they are outside on the ground. I had a panel I could move in the under belly storage area that gave me access to the plumbing, I would plug a utility lamp in there to give a little warmth.

I carry a cable pipe heater and if cold weather is predicted, I plug it into the 20 amp plug that generally never gets used. Also, I never have water in the black tank flush hose until I'm ready to dump the tank. Have not had a frozen hose yet, this trailer or the previous one.
