We have a 2021 Sonic 190vrb and during our trip one of the strings on a blind broke… the process to replace the string looks daunting especially since they supposedly last a couple of years at best. What are good alternatives? What have people replaced them? Or is everyone just restringing these on a regular basis?!?

I would replace all shades with the roll up black out / day time shades.

It's not a bad job. Where did the string break at? I find the factory has too much tension on the string. There is a spring in the top rail to maintain tension. The stings then go out and exit the top rail, through the blinds, into the bottom rail, cross to the other ends of the bottom rail, then exit to the wall post. You can raise the post to reduce the tension. They don't leave you any extra string to adjust the tension at the string post.

When we got our trailer, I noted the tension was a bit tight. I was able to loosen it enough just to take the tightness out. Other than that never had a problem with them. OH, I remember one of the small drums at the bottom had a double wrap on it. Took that out and adjusted it through the the other side and all was well. I guess what I'm saying it a pretty simple job.
