Good afternoon! I recently went to look at a Sonic Lite travel trailer which is a new 2022 unit that has been outdoors at the RV dealership for awhile. It seemed to be dirty and had a bit of rust on coupler. Some ports and plastic looked sun damaged and the outdoor griddle was dented. I literally asked the salesman (who seemed very genuine) “is this definitely a new unit?” I’m new to buying a travel trailer so I wanted to see if this type of wear is normal — for a unit that has been outside on a lot for awhile. Any thoughts would be appreciated. -Patrick

There's one for sale on RVtrader for $25k for a 169VRK. What model is the one you are looking at?

Sonic Lite 169VUD — seems loaded (off grid pkg)
Again, MSRP is a bit over $40K, and they negotiates with me and offered $26K.
The dealer said they will take care of things during their pre-delivery inspection period. Does that seem realistic?

If you pull the trigger on it be sure that the signed sales contract specifically identifies each item to be replaced, repaired etc. As Judge Judy says "If it's not written in the contract, it's not part of the deal".

Good afternoon! I recently went to look at a Sonic Lite travel trailer which is a new 2022 unit that has been outdoors at the RV dealership for awhile. Ask to see their invoice. It will say when it was built and delivered to them. It could have been delivered to them in late 2021 which makes it over 1 year old and it could have been sitting on their lot the whole time.

Anything can look old if it sits outside unprotected from the sun and airborne debris. If it is sitting downwind from a major road there's rubber dust and exhaust. Downwind from a dirt road, is bad. Then there's the pollen that covers everything. Under trees that drop everything like sticks, buds, leaves, pollen tags, and stems in not good. Birds like to leave a calling card while visiting. It's that fine dirt that streaks when it rains.
