As most of you, I am pre-wired for solar. I dont want to pay the dealership cost for their panels. Does anyone know if I just buy a panel or two, plugin, and it will work? Mainly when dry camping and keeping the battery charged. I do have a gel battery. TY for your time.

A thought for you . I would think you could get a small "suitcase" type setup, depending on how many watts you want and just how much you would use it. There are several companies out there. We got a Renogy and had to get a plug adapter because we have the Furrion set up on our rig.

I took my Sonic to the Arizona desert for Feb and March. My first trip in it. I boondocked most of the time I was there and used a 100 watt Harbor Freight solar set up. I bought the Amazon adapter for the Furrion plug but ended up clamping the alligator clips directly to my batteries instead. It worked great as long as the sun was shining, which was everyday!

I got the prewired solar plus the solar panel on the roof. I was told by the dealer that you can still plug in a portable solar panel into the solar outlet and you will get the combine power of both solar panels on roof and portable on ground. I haven't tried it yet but you know the dealer is never wrong

Jim, what part adapter did you buy? I have a Renogy portable solar system and want to plug into the side of the trailers prewired solar inlet. SO I guess the roof is a Furrion solar system and my portable system is Renege. So already have the factory solar system. I just want to add my portable system to it and combine solar power.

I ordered the adapter for switching the parity between the prewire and my portable solar panel.

Since I already have the one solar panel on the roof from the factory, does anyone know what brand solar is on the roof so I can add another of the same?

Was that added when you bought it, or was it considered a standard with solar. I have solar but no aux outlet anywhere else.

Mine is a 2022 model I just bought in May. It came with the solar from factory.

The "Prewire for Solar" is an option it does not come on every trailer.
