I have a 2020 model 343VBH. I recently discovered that the sink in the small bathroom is plumbed to drain into Black Tank 2 (the black tank for the toilet in that bathroom). I have sent a note directly to Venture customer service about this, and wanted to start a thread in this forum as well.
My assumption is that plumbing a sink to drain into a black tank is a mistake. If there is a reason that this may be intentional, please let me know.
Also, has anyone else encountered this issue, or something similar?

Is there a floor frame member or structure in the way of running that drain to the gray tank? Assuming the kitchen shares a gray water tank with the other bath.

With the underbody being fully insulated, I don't have much of a view of the framing, so can't comment on whether there are structural limitations. This trailer has two gray tanks. The main bath sink and shower drain into one, and the kitchen sink drains into the other. I was hoping that the 2nd bath sink would share with the kitchen sink.

I would think that the sink would drain into the grey tank.

Sounds like this is a question for Venture's Global Moderator to answer.

I agree, sounds like a question for Venture. Just doesn't seem like the right way to plumb it.

I've had good luck calling the customer service number is the owners manual. Took a couple of messages but got my item handled within the week. I don't have access to camper right now otherwise I'd put it in this post.

To which tank a particular sink drains depends on a couple of things ... where the tank is located (generally, only half-bath sinks or outside cook station sinks are routed into the black tank), and/or to maintain the overall balance of the trailer. No code violations are broken by draining a sink into a blackwater tank instead of a graywater tank. In fact, the extra soapy water will assist in flushing/breaking down/emptying the black tank. Not unlike a septic system at home, your home sinks drain into your "black tank" with no issues. As long as there are traps (and backflow preventers, in the case of outside cook stations that might be located below the unit's floodplain) at each sink, you're good to "go".

This is the type of interaction and information source that I was hoping to find on the Forum. Hope this answers Woodet's question.

Thanks, Workerbee ... appreciate your input. As I told Jim & Lorie a couple of days ago, we could certainly have a more noticeable presence. We do monitor the sites and try to get involved if a safety issue comes up. We want the forums to not be used as warranty or service or dealer shortcuts, but instead, a place or 'forum' for owners to talk each other through small issues and cool add-ons they've added or replaced on their units and share places to visit and all that goes with camping.
I know that sometimes, when a "company" person adds commentary, the thread just goes silent. We don't want that at all. We want this to be a refuge where no one feels monitored or overseen.
Again, I personally think we have a great bunch of present and future owners on here, and really appreciate the civility and respect they show each other. Thanks again, Michael

Knowing that plumbing this way is intentional under certain circumstances is good to know. Although I would have preferred to have that sink drain to a gray tank, mainly so that the black tanks fill up only when needed, I can accept that other considerations may take priority. Also, that particular sink gets minimal usage, so it's not a big concern.

I don't mind contributing and I have much to learn myself. But if I think something comes up short, I try to address it and post it.
