I love a dark/blacked out room. I sure wish I could turn out the lights on the fireplace and still have the heat on.

I completely agree with this statement. If they can do it so you have lights and no heat, they should be able to have heat and no lights 😄

I don't have a fireplace, but you got make and model number. Might be able to find a circuit drawing to see where to put a small toggle switch to control the light.

I'll have to see what I can find. I'm learning about electrical stuff. There are so many Venture owners that have posted on FB trying to figure out how to turn the lights out on the fireplace. If Venture could figure it out too there would be many happy Venture campers that have fireplaces.

Actually, thinking about this more.... I would opt for just a heater in the bedroom and extra draw space. Especially if it meant heat with no lights. Not that I need the space. There is so much storage in the sporttrek touring TTs.

We always take a couple of 750W/1500W heaters with us in winter, and keep them on the lower setting. That way it won't trip the fuse as easily.

You might be able to put some window film on the glass to cover the light.

Somebody's got to have a fireplace make and model number, or manual. There has to be some way to get to the light to replace. Can the bulb just be removed? There should be wires going to the light that could be used for a control feature.

Maybe just hang a blackout roller shade from the mantle.

I was trying to figure out which component to try next... guess the fireplace. I hope I get a response. Keep your fingers crossed.

The fireplace in our 251vrk is the same. The light level has 4 levels but no way to turn it off completely and still have the heater running. My guess is they are wired this way to make sure you can always "see" that the heater is running and not accidentally left on. It definitely would be possible to remove the fireplace, disassemble it, find the power wire to the light and tie into it with a toggle switch so it can be shut off without affecting other functions. I haven't done this though and have no need to as I don't need to have this ability.

I'm not sure what type of fireplace it is but I sent a not to Furrion on electric fireplaces so see what they have to say. I've been looking at a few YouTubes and it does seen pretty easy to pull the unit out. So I'm investigating... we'll see.

No we stopped investigating once I learned from the manufacturer that the fireplace is not built for full time use. It's built for ambience. Hence they leave the light on. We just use a small space heater in the bedroom at night if we have power available. Otherwise we use the camper furnace.
