The blinds use spring loaded tension cords to hold them in position. They can become uneven, raising or lowering them. When trying to straighten them, more tension is put on one side and can pull screws out of the wall. The cords run down one side, cross over to the other side through the bottom sash, comes out and go down to a stand off stud, where the tension is adjusted. Our large shade uses four of this cords. The cords may shrink over time, increasing the tension. There's no way do decrease the the tension, due to the cords being cut at the stand off stud. The stud could be raised, but who wants a line of screw holes in the wall under both sides of the window. The blinds are only held by a screw on each end without much engagement in the wall. I did add a third screw, that was missing, in the middle hole. The valance has to be removed to access the shade screws.
