I reached out to the BAL NXG vendor... here's what they sent me on slide: How to manually pull in slide: #14 is the location of the manual crank position; If you are going to use a ratchet, there is plenty of room. If you are going to plan on using a drill, invest in a universal joint. There isn't enough clearance between the nut and the trailer skirt for a straight shot at the nut with a drill. EDIT: Note the the shaft runs across the TT and the shaft/connection is on the opposite TT side from the slide to bring it in manually. BAL NXG customer support said: Please see the attachments (PDF file below) regarding the lubrication process and suggested lube. You can do this once annually or more if needed. If you lose power to your camper and cannot electronically extend or retract your slides there is an override shaft that extends off the back of the slide out motor and through the main frame rail that can be turned to move the slide. The shaft has a 3/4" nut welded to the end of it so it can be turned with a ratchet or low power drill. See the screen shot below, same think on your front slide. Please let me know if you have any other questions. For maintenance, BAL recommended: Lubrication Instructions BAL NXG slideout.pdf (327.85 KB) PDF FILE of where to lubricate.. Enjoy

Thank you for this information about lubricating the slides. It was very helpful in understanding exactly what needs lubrication and what doesn't. One thing I can seem to find anything about are the long round shafts that extend out with the slide out arms. It looks like there is some grease on the end of it, which leads me to believe some sort of lubrication is needed. Do any of you happen to know if that is true or not? I attached a photo for reference. BAL didn't give me anything on those shafts when I contacted them.
One side note on the slides, if you ever need to bring them in manually.... the main shaft extends to the opposite side of the TT and there is a 3/4 nut to use a rachet or low power drill to bring the slide in... So check that out in case you ever need to do it. The key it's on the opposite side of the TT from the slide. Took us forever to find it.
