Hello,
My wife and I picked up our 343 VIK last weekend and are trying to learn all that we can about what the trailer and what it has already installed. According to the things hanging in the trailer, it's supposed to be prewired for wifi booster or cell booster. I see the plate inside the trailer where it says the inside is prewired but I have not yet crawled on top to see if there is anything up there (seems that it would be rather useless to not have something up there but I just haven't had a chance to look yet). Has anyone here hooked either of these up with the existing wiring? If so what has your experience been with the prewire and did you use the King brand or some other brand?
Thanks,
Fred L

I installed the WiFi router in our trailer. There is a cable under the plate that simply attaches into the router. It works fine. We did not install an additional antenna.

I spoke with KZ-Venture Customer Support today. I asked about "what's under the plates" I see on my trailer's ceiling. Although the Customer Support person was trying to be very helpful, he did not have a wiring diagram of the installed King wiring. On the driver's side, on the ceiling, is a small plate. Under it is some wiring that can be pulled out of the hole (I haven't done that yet). I'm guessing that's where I'd connect a router, signal booster, etc. because on the passenger side, on the ceiling is another small plate. Above that plate on my trailer's roof is an antenna. I'm guessing under the plate is the wiring running to the antenna. I don't plan on installing the King system anytime soon so I haven't done further investigation.

I read in another post that there is a coax cable behind the plate. It is wired thru to the king tv antenna & and there is a punch out on that antenna mount for the coax to come out of. You will still need to mount your booster/WiFi external antenna on roof

I opened up the King WiFi Max plate and pulled the small mini coax out with a pair of needle nose pliers. The coax is not the same as your TV RG6. You have to go to a RV store and buy the King Wifi Max router, they are about $120 at Camping world. Easy to setup just like at home. But remember at every RV park with a different Wifi name you will have to go into the setup in the router and config the router with new wifi name and passwords. Sounds like a lot of work but if you are like us with a laptop, 2 cell phones and wifi TV you don'y have to setup this devices but only once in the router because the your devices will always be looking for your router's wifi. So setting up the router once for your device and then at every stop add the rv parks wifi info. Works really good once setup. I did not add an antenna on the roof. I assumed the TV had the wifi antenna built into it unless I'm missing something. Out of all the YouTube videos I watch for setting up the router there was no mention of adding an antenna on the roof. As far as increasing your cell service I don't know how that would be done if your TV is using the only R6 coax and your wifi is using a mini coax.

I was a professional low voltage wire person in the IT Network Engineer dept at a large aviation company. I spent many year of pulling and installing cables over the last 40 years. Basically you can turn any wire into a data wire to be use for any type of computer or electronics. Those coax cables in the RV's can be used for just about anything. There are adapters and converters to turn fiber into cat5, turn 120v house wiring into coax for TV or computers. RV cable like coax can be use for cellular systems, computers, TV if you can dream it someone makes it. Where there are no wires data can be transfer over the air frequencies and then switch back to coax. With my test equipment I could read everyones passwords on their computers from a long distance, I could hear phone conversation standing 5 feet away from the active phone wires. I been retired now for 12 years and I'm sure there has been many technology advancements since my retirement. So back to the wires in your trailer. You can use the coax with any system you want to install with the right adapters, connectors, inverters etc. You can take one coax cable and splitter that one cable into 20 or 30 different device. If you only have one coax going from point A to point B and need another coax you can split the existing coax into many different frequencies to use for more devices.
