About to take delivery of this unit and just wondered if anyone who has a 2021 Sonic knows if the power awning has the gas strut rain dump feature...?
Thanks.

I can pull one corner down a bit on my 2021 169VRK so if it rained it would fall off on the corner I want it to. I don't know about brands though.

Thanks. No, it does not. It has a joint in the arms that you adjust to lower one or both sides to adjust where the rain runs off. The awning is Solera made by Lippert. See the video here: www.etrailer.com/RV-Awnings/Lippert/LCV000334969-362243.html

Just make sure after you lower one side of the awning that you put it back in the right place when you are ready to retract the awning

Just make sure after you lower one side of the awning that you put it back in the right place when you are ready to retract the awning With the Lippert Power awning - According to the "Solera Power Awning Owner's Manual" page 4 under "NOTE" The awning can be retracted without resetting the pitch. Under #3 above the note, Pull downward on the joint of the articulating arm until desired pitch is set to allow for water runoff. Do not push the joints of the articulating arms up. This will put tension on the gas strut, which can cause the strut to break. Under the video shown to look at above, it says in the explanation below the video: Easy manual pitch adjustment allows you to block out the sun throughout the day. Does not require readjustment before retracting. You might want to check on the Lippert site with the model you have for an explanation for your year, but first get the model of your awning.

The video I watched . The man said though the awning will retract like you said. It will put unwanted tension to the canvas . So yes it will work though. I will put it back into position myself. Preventative maintenance I guess. Go to the 17 minute mark for his discussion on putting the awning back to its original position as well.. It does make sense. www.youtube.com/watch?v=AQC39_21tgE&t=28s
