New 2021 SL169VUD, and want to take my Yakima 4-bike hitch mounted rack. Can i attach a receiver adapter to the rear bumper? would be an additional 100 lbs or so. if not, what solutions did you all do?
thanks, Ron - newbie in 2021

It's not just 100 pounds, when towing. Many dynamic forces there from pot holes, railroad tracks, speed bumps, parking lot transitions, bridge transitions, curbs, etc. It's just the two of us and we got folding bikes that go in the tow vehicle.

If you search either Jayco or Forest River Forums there are members there who have purchased/used aftermarket brackets to add the necessary supports to the bumper to allow the addition of a receiver and carry bikes safely. Sorry I don't know the mfr/distributor as we have no need for bikes.

You can buy a bolt-on hitch receiver for less than $40. I've used it on all our rigs, even back when we had a tent trailer.

I put a bolt on receiver on our 169vrk. Got it on Amazon, the one at camping world didn't work out, not enough room for the mounting brackets.
