I installed the Maxxair vent cover for two reasons: The design of the louvers gives me the option to have my RV vent open during inclement weather like rain and wind. It also adds another layer of protection to the standard RV vent cover from UV rays and other elements. The Maxxair vent cover is offered in a few different color options and there are a few different variations of this cover you can find on the internet. The one I bought can be purchased for about $55 on amazon. As you can see from the photos, it does not install into the roof, so you don't have to worry about plugging roof holes. It comes with brackets that install directly into the metal frame of the existing RV vent cover and the vent itself sits off the roof by about a 1/2 inch. It is as easy as lining up the vent cover where you want it, marking where the holes need to be on the metal frame and drilling four simple holes. Another cheap and easy DIY upgrade. www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000A3GK4M/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1Attachments:

I got a gift certificate from the dealer so I just used it for the MaxAir vent cover and had the dealer install it too.
