I have new sport trek with solar for battery. as I understand uses trickle charge. We will be boon docking soon and I want to know if the solar will run the refrig for 3 days and will I have enough battery charge to be able to get my slide back in. My refrigerator does not have a propane capability. New camper here.

Assuming you've got the 10 cubic foot 12 volt frig... depending on the battery size, battery type, how hot it is, sun (will you be in full sun?), etc it will vary. The frig tends to use 4-10ah per hour... avg is about 6ah per hour. First make sure you put it in Off-Grid mode which should be the first 2 positions on the frig dial. So if you have say a 80 ah lead acid battery you can use half of it or 40 ah (lead acid batteries should only be drained 50%). So a 10 cubic ft 12 volt frig will drain your battery pretty quickly. Also depends on what other 12 volt items you are running in the camper. So it's hard to tell as there are lots of variables. I would probably take a generator to charge the battery up. Try it out in your driveway with a couple of jugs of water in frig.

Either way I would make sure I had 2 batteries, add another solar panel and always carry a smaller 2400watt generator. You could have rain for 3 days with no solar charge. I carry my generator with me and I never boondocks. Once we were in a campground with full hookups and the electric grid went down for miles around and we had no power for 12 hours. Good thing I had the gen.
