I went to check on the trailer in the off site RV storage facility to install some tire cover protectors, went inside and found the valance laying on the dining table. There were 2 loose screws on the floor. Just sitting in storage things break. I'm guessing the 2 screws missed the stud and was only being held in by the thin fiber board walls. : ( Attachments:

Great being a RV owner. I had to remove our valance to rework the string in the shade and reduce the string tension. There are strings crossing back and forth inside the top and bottom frames, supposedly to keep it level and stationary at any position.

Great ideal, what lengths do you think is your right so I don't go all the way thru the outside wall? Wrap tape around the drill bit about 1/4" up from the end for a stop. After you're through the inside panel, you can see how deep it is with a piece of wire.

I would reinstall it with 4 screws instead of just 2. With 2 screws the valance would "flap" as you were going down the road and eventually work its way loose again.

I would reinstall it with 4 screws instead of just 2. With 2 screws the valance would "flap" as you were going down the road and eventually work its way loose again. I did install 4 screws on the bracket to the wall and to the valance. I bought these plastic anchors that spread out inside the wall as you tighten the screw. I got the white plastic screws from Ace Hardware. I had to drill the the exit wall hole from a 1/8" hole to a 3/8" so you could push in the plastic anchor. There is styrofoam in there wall so I use my drill bit in my hand to remove a little of the foam so the anchor would have more room to spread. I had to be sure to attache the bracket to the wall 1st then place the valance on top of the bracket and use a long screw driver to install the screws. I used the existing screws plus 2 more I had to buy to attach. The four screws in the bracket was the next size thicker to accommodate the plastic anchors. Now I can store anvils on top of the valance : ) Thanks for everyone's help.
