Venting the tanks... We are using our 2021 venture sonic lite for a week with full hook ups for the first time. I noticed when I open the cabinet in the bathroom (that houses the black pipe up to the roof for the vent I assume) there is a smell. It isn't super noxious since I have treatments in the tank and it is only half full...but it makes me wonder if there is abad seal somewhere. Thoughts or suggestions for first timers?

Isn't the Studor valve for the drain so there is air behind whatever is going 'south' and it doesn't create a vacuum? I thought this was separate from tank ventilation. Not a plumber here...

Isn't the Studor valve for the drain so there is air behind whatever is going 'south' and it doesn't create a vacuum? I thought this was separate from tank ventilation. Not a plumber here... The Studor valve has a light spring that keeps the diaphragm seated to keep drain smells contained. When the drain is used, the diaphragm will open if needed, to prevent the vacuum developing and slowing down whatever is going down the drain. Once the flow is gone, it reseats. They are not perfect. They can get trash, mold, or cock to one side sometimes. Most are just screwed in by hand, for an easy change out. The link provided in my last post goes into more detail.
