Hi all, We have not done any camping for around 25 years. We purchased a new Sport Trek ST271VMB. Through trial and error we have figured most features out. Still cant get oven to light. Do we need to light a pilot in the oven? We were told just turn oven know and then ignitor knob. Stove top works just like that. May be possible that the dealer did not turn something on. We did have to take inside panel off to turn hot water heater on. Any ideas?

I would try turning the stovetop burners and leave them on while trying to light the oven. Try using a match when lighting, I think you have to push in on the oven knob and hold in while lighting. That's all I can think of. Make sure you have all your windows open while trouble shooting.

Oven owner's manual in the pack of manuals they pass off as their owner's manual? If not, should be something online by the manufacturer.

What Earl said….
First, it takes a long time for propane to get from the tank to the stove and oven on our 27 footer. I usually light all of the burners on the stovetop when I turn on the propane to get the lines full. You also have to turn the oven temperature to Light then keep it pushed in while turning the igniter knob.

Push in and hold in the oven control knob to override the flame detector automatic shutoff. Turn the ignitor several clicks, watch for the pilot to light. The ignitor will light the pilot flame. Continue pressing in the oven control knob for a good 15 seconds before letting go to allow the thermocouple to heat up.

We were shown a neat little trick when lighting the oven. If you open the oven door partway, the pilot light will be reflected in the glass door. That way you can tell when it is lit, without having to get down on your hands and knees and stick your head in the oven to see if it was lit. It doesn't always light on the first try.
