I have been following this forum since February and I haven't see anyone on here with awning issues. However, I follow a Venture Facebook page and I have seen several other people run into awning issues. During a recent trip, I looked up at the awning after it had been extended out for a few days and noticed two screws on the top/front side of the RV stripped out from the trailer (refer to photos). I grabbed a ladder and attempted to screw them back in, however they were completed stripped out. Luckily, when I retracted the awning, it laid flat against the trailer so I could sill tow it. I'm thinking the installer either totally missed the metal studs/backing or they didn't use the right size screw. For those of you with a SportTrek Touring model, keep an eye out for this issue, because it has been a common one with these later year models. The TT is currently at the dealer to fix this issue among some other minor warranty issues and a recall. I will update this post once I hear what the issue was. Attachments:

I notice my Valance over the windows that hide the pulled down shades were also stripped out. I think the techs forget to reset their drills to the right torque for the job. I had to replaced strip screw holes with anchor screws.

Just an update regarding this issue. I recently picked up my TT. According to the job repair paperwork, the stripped screws issue was repaired with "awning hardware rivets." I hope this takes care of the issue for the long term. In the event it doesn't, I will update this post.
