Awning Screws Stripped

I have been following this forum since February and I haven't see anyone on here with awning issues.  However, I follow a Venture Facebook page and I have seen several other people run into awning issues.  During a recent trip, I looked up at the awning after it had been extended out for a few days and noticed two screws on the top/front side of the RV stripped out from the trailer (refer to photos).  I grabbed a ladder and attempted to screw them back in, however they were completed stripped out.  Luckily, when I retracted the awning, it laid flat against the trailer so I could sill tow it.  I'm thinking the installer either totally missed the metal studs/backing or they didn't use the right size screw.  For those of you with a SportTrek Touring model, keep an eye out for this issue, because it has been a common one with these later year models.  The TT is currently at the dealer to fix this issue among some other minor warranty issues and a recall.  I will update this post once I hear what the issue was.
