We just purchased a 150VRK with the Murphy bed, and are wondering if it should be up or down during travel. The dealer told us it did not matter. This far we have only done a short, maybe 300 miles with it up.

Welcome to the forum from South Carolina. Many opinions on the Murphy bed. Some say it makes no difference. Less wear on the bed up latch, with the bed being down, when towing. Depending on the bed position, it can either add or reduce tongue weight. Bed position can change the load on the axle, also. Being up makes the closets easier to get to.

We just encountered a situation where the screws in the Piano hinge pulled out while traveling with the bed up. We did encounter a rough road. I believe with the bed down it would be less down pressure on that hinge! Anyone else encounter this?
