Has anyone added a 2nd battery to their Touring? There isn't any room to add another to the front behinf LP tanks. If you have, where did you put it?

That's surprising I never heard of any RV where you couldn't add a 2nd battery, but always a 1st. My little Sonic Lite has 2 batteries. You might have to expand your battery tray wider.

A picture would tell a thousand words. There is always room, just has to be made. I have two as does Earl.

My 343vik came with two batteries. Batteries are usually installed by the dealer. If yours came with only one, it's the dealer cutting costs.

It appears trailers come with one battery and motorhomes come with 2 batteries from my past experience of the last 23 years and several RV types.

The number of batteries probably depends on the equipment installed in the camper. The more vent fans, CO detectors, antenna boosters, furnaces, refrigerators, etc. that could be called on when off the grid, the larger battery bank is needed. Of course, a recharging source of some type has to be utilized to support all that also.

The trailers leave the factory with no batteries. It's up to the dealer how many cheap or expensive batteries they want to add.

It should be noted that dealers only install the cheapest batteries at that. Look into your options when it comes to batteries. If you got the money to burn you can get lithium batteries. When I got my trailer I had them install the extra battery but used two 6 volt batteries as to 2 12volt batteries. The 6v combined give you the 12v you need, but the upside is longer working hours, when a standard battery will have about 100 amp hours, and a deep cycle about 150 amp hours, but the combined 6v = 12v will have 230 amp hours. In reality how are new buyers suppose to know this info, that's the sad part. You just have to learn pretty much as I did when I started. Tread Lightly

My 343vik also has two batteries behind the propane tanks. It's just a matter of bolting on the right size battery holder box.
