What is a good light weight air compressor that I can carry in my sonic light? What do you want to do with it? How much room do you have for storing? Big difference from blowing out water lines to putting air in the tires. Edit:I carry the DeWalt 20v Air Compressor (DCC020IB) because like Navylcdr, I already had batteries for it. It pumps up air mattresses, tires, water toys, etc. Note: One thing I dislike is the light on it goes off after two minutes. I emailed DeWalt service and they say it's normal since the unit cuts off if it does not sense use. Told them it's not normal if you're changing a tire in the dark. R&D, if there is one, failed on that point. I still haven't disassembled it to by-pass the electronic crap and wire it the way it needs to be. For water line blowout, I use a California Air Tool 1 gallon compressor that I use for brad nailers. It takes a while, but it recovers pressure fairly quick, and it's quiet. www.californiaairtools.com/contractor-grade-ultra-quiet-series-of-air-compressors/3-5-hp-air-compressor/cat-1p1060sp/

What is a good light weight air compressor that I can carry in my sonic light? I like the Black and Decker Matrix compressor. It takes the same battery as the drill and worklight that I carry. It also has 12v DC cigarette lighter cord and 120v AC cord.

Thank you, I was thinking I should get one with like batteries for my drill. It sure beats unraveling the power cord and trying to find a place to plug into!

I use a Ryobi 18V ONE+ DUAL FUNCTION INFLATOR/DEFLATOR. It inflates from 0-150PSI. Takes any size 18V battery. Amazon for $70 Attachments:

I use a Ryobi 18V ONE+ DUAL FUNCTION INFLATOR/DEFLATOR. It inflates from 0-150PSI. Takes any size 18V battery. Amazon for $70 I carry this same one. Works great, is easy to store and I already have a bunch of batteries for it. It advertises inflation up to 150psi - but I can tell you that airing tires up past 70psi takes a l-o-n-g time.

I have Porter Cable Pancake compressor that will do 120 psi. A holdover form my fifth wheel. I have a generator and use that to power it on the road if required.

I just bought another battery operated Ryobi air compressor lAst week, it was $30 at Home Depot minus the battery. I already have several Ryobi tools and have plenty of batteries. The day we were scheduled to leaving for our camping trip I had installed my sensors for the my TPMS on the rieews the night before. Apparently I didn't screw one on tight enough and the tire went flat over night. This new light weight hand held air compressor was easy to use. I admit that it was a little slow inflation a tire completely flat and need 80psi to inflate but still worked very nice.

I bought this one based on a review from a Jeep buddy who is constantly airing BIG off-road tires up and down. This one runs cool even after after inflating the 35" BFGs on my Super Duty. It comes in a nice storage bag and has a long power lead, a long air hose with a pressure gauge, an air hose nozzle adapter with a lock to hold it on a valve stem. It will also achieve 150 PSI as advertised. Lots of positive ratings on Amazon seem to concur with my experience. All-Top Air CompressorI would add that one of the most important ratings for a compressor is the amount of air it can flow in cubic feet per minute (CFM). This unit has a CFM rating of 7.06 CFM.

I would add that one of the most important ratings for a compressor is the amount of air it can flow in cubic feet per minute (CFM). This unit has a CFM rating of 7.06 CFM. It doesn't say at what PSI that flow rate was measured. Could be when starting up at 0 psi. Flow rate drops as pressure increases. Specs on the California Air Tool compressor is: 1.60 CFM @ 40 PSI and 1.20 CFM @ 90 PSI.
