My Sonic Lite 169VUD has a panel in the bathroom. On the panel there are 3 red switches. Two switches say "water pump" and the third switch says "water heater." So, my question is - why are there 2 water pump switches. It seems like one switch doesn't seem to do anything. Why is it there?

Mine is Water Pump, Gas Water Heater, Electric Water Heater. Mine does have a second water pump indicator light which does nothing. The second water pump indicator light is only used if there is a remote water pump switch somewhere, which my Sonic does not have. Exactly like this panel, except only 1 Gray Tank button. This stock photo of the 169VUD shows the same panel with 1 water pump switch and two water heater switches.

Looking at your switch picture, what's a three way pump? 12vdc, 120vac, and a pump handle?

So wrong terminology. It's a standard pump, controlled in multiple locations, by 3-way and 4-way switches.
