Was doing an exterior inspection of everything before we decide to take off somewhere and I started the awning out and I noticed that about two feet of the awning became unglued from the carrier attached to the trailer. This is at the front end of the trailer. I got a ladder to see what was going on and sure enough the material is just separating from its mount. If anyone has had this same issue, I would really like to find out what type of glue was used, but I'm guessing most if they had this problem would just take it in. Yes, mine is still under warranty, but I prefer to do the work myself.
The awning is actually a Lippert component but they are hardly close to me. If anyone has any information concerning this, all is welcome.

Got a picture? Don't have the camper close now. I don't remember if it is glued, sewn, or stapled. Ours may be different, also.

I'll try to get a picture today. It's not taped, it's as if it was glued end to end I didn't even see an overlap on the rest of the material. The seperation is not jagged at all, it is straight. It is not stapled or sewn, that really only leaves glue, or an electrical process of some type. I think I will call Lippert tomorrow and talk to them as well.

It was probably heat applied. I think I would start with a good surface cleaning and then try a quality double sided tape. If it doesn't want to stick to the flex side, a fresh tube of clear ShoeGoo may work. It can stick to anything and it is waterproof. It would be nice if you had some way to reach around the awning and clamp the area while it set.

Replace with a Solar awning would be cool. New on the market.

I have not heard from Lippert as yet, but it is a National Holiday today so I may not. But, I did learn that there is a "awning weld recall" and if I work through a KZ dealer, they dan process a claim to inspect, repair, or replace the awning fabric, based on the findings. So, as I have already started dealing with Lippert I will wait to hear from them, if all they do is authorize a repair then I would have to provide their authorization to a KZ dealer. If this happens I will have to make a decision whether I want to wait for a spot to open at a dealer to get it processed and done or just buy it myself and do the work, which is what I was going to do in the first place. So, I'm again in the waiting game. But it was good to know that Lippert recognizes it as being a weld seam problem.

Forgot to make an update on this thread. Lippert is going to do it under warranty but I need to take it to an authorized dealer. Have made arrangements to get it done, I take the trailer in July 5th.

It's completed, new awning installed and working great. It's nice when it all comes together.
