In October we purchased a new 2023 Stratus 231vrb. We went through everything with the dealer when we picked it up which took about 2 hours. When we got it home we packed up and headed out for our camping trip, we spent 3 days enjoying the beautiful outdoors and everything worked perfectly, EXCEPT on the way home we stopped at a truck stop to empty the holding tanks, when I took off the cap to hookup the hose I was greeted with 3 days of 💩 💩 and more 💩 I immediately tried to put the cap back on which only covered me in 💩. Turns out the black tank valve was stuck in the open position and would not close. It obviously came from the factory that way. Who knew you needed to check the tank valves before delivery?? I called the dealer and immediately returned the trailer to be repaired. After 2 weeks they claimed it was repaired so when I went to pick it up I immediately checked the valves and although both worked they were very hard to open and close, the dealer explained that they had replaced both valves and because they were new they were stiff, he said they would get easier with time. So this weekend the weather was nice so we decided to go camping again, had a great time until it was time to dump the tanks again. Hooked the hoses up and when I pulled the handle on the black tank it took everything I had to open it, after the tank was emptied and flushed I tried to close the valve with no luck it wouldn’t budge, the grey tank was hard to open but with a lot of effort it did close. The Stratus is back at the dealer now, but I have no faith that they will fix the problem.
Has anyone else had this problem? And if so how was it resolved? I am thinking about biting the bullet and having electric power valves installed, anyone tried them? Any help would be greatly appreciated .
