A good friend had the bottom of his slide OSB rot, on his other brand RV. It is a 2018 model so seems relatively new, but he said the way it was built did not shed water and of course we all know how OSB gets along with water. It was a BIG JOB to replace the entirety.
Looking at my Sonic Lite 169VUD, the bottom of the slide appears to be painted black. At the farthest part of the slide (the outside) the OSB is rock solid, but appears to be protruding a bit beyond the side trim as if it weren't aligned from the factory, or it might have swelled a little already from moisture (trailer is stored indoors, but we live in damp western Washington).
Any thoughts or recommendations on what to slather on the bottom of that slide to preserve it? Thompsons water seal?
(On other forums some have said not to paint this because it traps moisture IN, I do not agree with that unless someone has more information)

I am not familiar with this issue, looking at mine it is also painted and dry. But to use Thompsons water seal, would you not have to sand it first as the water seal is a penetrator, where as the paint is a surface seal and seems it would hold the moisture. Interesting though, I'll have to watch this.

Not hearing any objections, I did it.
Thompsons Water Seal went on well, absorbed into the material, it could be seen wicking into the OSB, and was applied with a paper towel with a wiping motion until a sheen was displayed.
That took about 10 minutes, and observing it being absorbed (thru the black paint, I did not sand it) seemed to indicate I was as doing the right thing. Only time will tell, but as absorbent as the OSB was, I would recommend something on there in a wet climate.

Thanks for coming back and letting everyone know what you did. Not many do that.

Our Sonic is back in a dry barn for the winter, with slide extended out.
Considering how fast the first two applications of Thompson Water Seal seemed to absorb, I will continue the process, adding another application each time I'm there. It takes only a few minutes and by spring I hope that OSB is either saturated with water seal or has a hard surface of the stuff, either way preventing water getting absorbed.
